Why UN Security Council is an Outdated Organization

United Nations Security Council (UNSC) was formed in 1946 with primary goal of international peace and security. The body was formed with five permanent members, largely the power houses after second world war. World today is lot different than what it was 70 years back. We are no longer in initial years of 20th century looking to avoid next world war. We are in 21st century, we are a global society and we are focused on economy and science growth. But we do have problems that requires greater attention and timely resolution and I doubt that UNSC in its present form is prepared and capable of doing so.

Challenges of 21st century can largely be attributed to the failure of security council. International terrorism is one such example. Permanent members like USA and Russia, two largest military powers post world war II made this a dummy body with both along with their allies were busy with cold war. How could you aim to have peace when you yourself were involve in nuclear arms race. This left rest of the world unattended and issues related to land spur in almost every part of the world.

So why should one have confidence in this security council. and here is why it is outdated;

1. it no longer represents the democratic view. Its opinion is skewed towards smaller set of nations  and more than 70% of this world having no voice in security council. Africa, Latin America and democratic Asia has no representation (China of course is far from being a democratic nation).

2. UNSC has limited or zero influence on Islamic terrorists groups like Al-Qaida, ISS. UNSC can start a war but will never be able to end it. With a larger representation of people, UNSC can bring in more credibility and will be looked upon as unbiased body. World peace and security is no longer an objective that can be achieved by weapons of mass destruction.

3. UNSC is becoming rich nations club (may be not so rich considering Russia and China's figures). Rich nations with nuclear arms and large armies are permanent members of UNSC. This only motivates other nations to become more richer and build army that is larger ignoring social and peach objectives.

4. 1946 was a different world. Countries like India were still a nation ruled by Britishers. But as time changed many such have not just become independent but have also grown big by their contribution to the international community. These nations can no more can be ignored as they too play decisive rule in defining the future of our planet.

So who all are in race:

Countries like Japan and Germany have proven beyond doubt that they have skills and attitude to produce products that are unmatched by all standards. They have build economy from scratch and have been advocating peace. They have never engaged in any war post 1947, why should they not be part of UNSC. India represents 1/6th of the world population. The secular democratic nation from Asia has never stepped out of its borders to conquer any country or land. They are the largest democracy and they are secular. Unlike middle east and west which are largely influenced by the religion priorities India has come out with an example yet to observe elsewhere on the blue planet.

The choices are now between Brazil and South Africa, both comes from a continent which till date has no permanent representation in UNSC. I see Brazil having a greater advantage due to its improving economy over South Africa which still has to prove a lot on equal rights to all humans. The South African society is far from neutral, and social and economical parameter aren't as impressive as that of Brazil.

What about others:

Middle east is nations constitute a large significant part of our world. They have come out from the old orthodox way to understand the needs of modern society. But they are still driven by the religious priorities and have almost negligible tolerance towards other faiths. Europe with three representation (UK, France and Russia) and one nomination (Germany) has largest group in UNSC permanent members. Surely they are economically sound but they represent only a smaller section of the world. So is the case with Koreans, they also have to settle issues among each other before they can talk about a place in permanent members of UNSC. Australia and Canada are good options but including them brings in no different perspective than what we already have. They do not influence Asia, Middle east, Africa and Latin America as we India, Brazil, Japan and Germany does. There presence in security council will skewed the opinions further towards the NATO and Northern American region.

Existing member may find a reason or more to oppose the inevitable, expansion of UNSC permanent council members. They fear dilution of say. Historically no one likes competition but this time the big five is fast running out of options. If world has to be a safer and better place, we need representation from larger section. Fresh views will bring in more life and power to UNSC, no nations other than India, Brazil, Japan and Germany can be banked upon for this cause.

Israel embassy staff targeted in Delhi. US & European Union aim to isolate Iran on nuclear issue, and Iran wants to cut down oil supply to west, blames Israel for targeting its scientists. Tension is growing and effects are soon seen on soaring crude oil prices.

While Russia and China plays a wait and watch game, patience is running out. Economic slowdown, followed by Arab world slowdown and now nuclear tension. All is NOT well with our world.

While political community device a plan to ease tension and ensure safe world, I would request you all to pray for peace of our world to your God and hope that we live in safe and peaceful environment.

Anna against corruption soon turns out to be Anna against congress. Civil societies fight against corruption is now viewed as fight against congress. Yes, thanks to immature front-face of Congress that took up episodes of Baba ramdev and Anna. And if that was not enough loose comments from diggy in the heart of India made things worse.

Dig Deep vijay - and u will soon realize the pain and anger that is fueling the war against corruption, war that will soon blow you up unless you get your senses back to ground.

What happened with Prashant Bhushan is his faith, and you trying to cash on it by taking on BJP is probably reveals the kind of person you are. Had it been otherwise, heat of India would have been in far better shape and you must be ruling rather than far..ing.

In the war against corruption all parties are seating around a round table and smart people will soon figure out who is in for them and who is in for themselves.

आप किस तरह के गरीब है? येह सवाल थोडा विचित्र जरुर है परन्तु सोचने पर मजबूर करता है. जी हा, यह सच है, हमारे लिये यह जानना बहूत जरुरी है की हम वाक्य में गरीब क्यों है? और जब तक हमे जवाब नहीं मिलता हम गरीब ही रहेंगा.

गरीबी के प्रकार.

जनम से गरीब: यह वेह लोग है जो अपने साथ अपना कर्म ले कर आते हे. इनका कर्म महेनत और कोशिस से भरा होता है. यह वोह लोग है जो सायद अपने नसीब को सबसे जादा कोस ते है, इनका जीवन सिर्फ जरूरते पूरा करने में बीत जाता है. इस सब के बावजूद कई ऐसे लोग होते है जो अपने आप को अपने जनम के कर्मो से मुक्त करने में कामयाब होजाते है. यह वो लोग है जॉब सबसे जादा अपने आप में और सायद भगवान् में विश्वास रक्तेह है. यह लोग अपने जनम की कमी को अपने ज्ञान या कर्म से पूरा करते है.

ज्ञान से गरीब: यह वो लोग है जिनमे ज्ञान का आभाव होता है. इनकी गरीबी इनकी कम सिख्षा की वजह से होती है. इन्हें इनकी कम लाय्कत की वजह से ऐसे काम मिलते है जिनमे कमाई कम होती है. लेकिन ऐसे कई लोग है जो ज्ञान की कमी के बावजूद अपने जीवन मे तरकी पातेहे, ऐसे लोग अपने ज्ञान की कमी को समजते है. इनके  लिए ज्ञान नाहोना सिर्फ एक वजह होती है और ये इस वजह के परे जीते है. ऐसे लोग अपने अज्ञानी होने को सबके सामने स्वीकार ते है एवम सबको  इसका होने का महत्त्व भी दर्शाते है. यह कर्म में विश्वास रख्खते है.

कर्म से गरीब: यह वो लोग होते है जो जनम से मीली सम्पत्ती का महत्त्व नहीं करते. यह अपने धन को अपना हक़ समजते है और ज्ञान होने के बावजूद महन्त नहीं करते. ऐसे लोग हिंदुस्तान के हर सहर में भरमार मिलते है जो ज़िंदगी भर सर्कार के भरोसे रहते है. यह कभी खुदके दम पर कुछ नहीं पाने की इच्छा रक्कते. इनमे खुदगर्जी ना बराबर होती है और ये अपने आप को तीस-मर-खा समाज ते है. पारीवारिक धन और ज्ञान ऐसे लोगो के कम नहीं आता है और यह इनदोनो को जल्द खो देते है. इनका बचाव सिर्फ और सिर्फ इनकी कीमत कर सकती है जो इन्हें गरीब होने से बचालेती है.

गृह से गरीब: यह वो लोग होते है जो बेहिसाब दोलत और ज्ञान के बावजूद गरीब हो जाते है. इनके गृह यानीकी किस्मत इनको कामयाब नहीं होनेदेती है. ऐसे लोग कर्म के अलाव धर्म में भी विश्वास करते है और यही विश्वास इनके गृह को बदल सक्कता है. बहोत कम लोग यह कर पाते है.

हक़ से गरीब: इनलोगों में इच्हा ही नहीं होती के यह अपनी गरीबी को दूर करे. यह गरीब होना ससे अच्छा समजते है और कामयाब लोगो को सक्क की नजर से देखते है. ऐसे लोग कभी भी अपनी गरीबी दूर नहीं करसकते और न कभी यह अपने जीवन का मूल्य समजते. यह सिर्फ और सिर्फ जीवन का अपमान करते है.

हर तरह की गरीबी से लड्डा जा सक्कता है परन्तु हक़ के गरीब का कोई भल्ला नहीं कर सक्कता है. आप अपने जीवन में जब कभी किसी गरीब को देखे तो पहले यह समजने की कोसिस करे की यह गरीब क्यों है और सिर्फ उसी कमी का दान करे जिसकी उस व्यक्ती में आभाव हो. इसीसे भारत निर्माण होगा.

5 Failures of PC - My view

One of the biggest disappointment of Dr. MM Singh's government has been Home Ministry. For me I looked up at PC with great hope and expectation which now are shattered. There have been many issues that caught fire in last few year, all with same root cause, PC was always reacting never proactive.

I am upset and so are Indians who had high hope, and hence this post;

1. Naxals: You decide to setup additional police posts and chose to deploy additional forces on our own people rather you should have preferred to talk and try and pull Naxals into mainstream. They are product of our ill doing, negligence and poor treatment. You can chose to use your Airforce to eliminate Naxals but you would never be able to eliminate Naxalisum. They are not your vote bank but that does not mean you neglect them.
   
   
2. Regionalism vs Nationalism: You feared Marath vote bank and you feared hindi heart land vote bank. So you decide to take no strong action against RT neither do you believe daily wagers from UP Bihar deserve better life. You inability to take strong action against such incidents has fragmented India and thoughts of piece large than picture is now seen everywhere. AP is on fire for your inability to keep people together.
   
   
3. Kashmir: Yes it is integral part of India and it always will be. You have no answer to boiling issues with Kashmiri youths nor do you believe in reaching out to people. Kashmir was never so disturbed in recent past as it was in last one year. You failed in building bridge between angry mob and central government, neither you did anything for Kashmiri Pandits who are true identity of Kashmir.
   
   
4. Price rise: Utter failure in controlling inflation. Maybe this is not your department and but you as a home minister are responsible for anything and everything in this country. We demand strong action to curb price rise and control inflation that is killing mango man of India.
   
5. Farmers: Last but your greatest failure. Farmer suicide is on rise in India, recently published figures in TOI suggest about 7% increase in farmers committing suicide in India. What do you have to say, may be they are not your vote bank but they too deserve to live.
   
   Finally to the party that gave us iron man of India as our first home minister. We need leader who is Indian and who commands equal respect from all parts of India. We need a person who deliver and not just talk nicely. Hope you learn lesson from your current failures and deliver people what you promised.

3G Life - It’s freedom to me

3G for me is freedom. Freedom to be mobile, freedom to work, communicate and enjoy from the location of my choice. I dream of a life where I am not confined to my cubicle or office walls for accomplishing my work. I landed at Airport, hired a cab and then switched on my laptop as cab started moving. I inserted TATA Photon device manufactured by ZTE in USB port and in less than 5 minutes I was connected to my office network. As cab driver drove me for an hour and half long journey maneuvering through city traffic I was on my job, seating on back car replying to all high priority mails and assign work to my team members, this all without any disturbance from any corner. A highly productive 90 minutes that I often practice when I am on move.

3G Devices and Applications
Mobile data cards are the most commonly used 3G device globally. A mobile data card allows us to connect to internet on a laptop. Apart from data cards popular handhelds like iPhone 3G offers us such data rates. There are number of other niche products specially in retail and medical industries where high speed data network is business critical need.

In future we would see many more such devices in shops that would allow us to live streaming of any IPL match, or Olympics sprint or a world cup football final. Imagine this, you go out for vacation and some bugler breaks into your house, you immediately get alert on you handset or 3G enabled wrist watch, you switch on to live streaming from your home CCTV camera and warn buglers over 3G network. You inform police, neighbors and relatives with details of buglers, how many etc.

More, I am on a vacation in Goa and an important business meetings comes up. I need not to worry of flying back to my office wherever it may be, all I would do is switch on my 3G device and attain it relaxing on ‘Anjana beach’, I my though prefer to switch my video streaming for obvious reasons.

Is it a curse or boon
I firmly believe that no innovation is curse, be it television, mobile or nuclear energy. It always boils down to how we use it. For me 3G is a boon and it’s launch would be my second independence day.

It probably took less than 3 minutes for BJP top brass to communicate to Jaswant Singh that it was great to work with him for 30 years and now he is sacked from the party for his views on Independence that contradict with party's ideology.

Is BJP too intolerant? Is this against our culture, custom bla bla...... well how can we treat someone like this? he has put in 30 years of his life, was a cabinet minister himself and one who's contribution to India's growth is unquestionable.

Well over 60 years of Independence and we still talk and argue over such worthless issues. I believe that our history, both pre and post independence is manipulated. Lots of facts are not mentioned or are inferred wrongly/ politically. We probably would never know some facts. We respect past, but it's dead. We just cannot keep doing postmortem over and over for proving our points, right or wrong.

So, I am happy that we Indians, individuals, parties, organizations etc are getting aggressive, and getting intolerant towards nonsense. The Jaswant Sing episode must be a learning for all of us that India cannot effort to focus on issues that matter least today. Anyone who speaks other than, economy, infrastructure, social justice, law and order, security & safety, fundamental rights and democracy should be out of the parliament. Today we cannot effort anything other then what I just mentioned and yes we must stop non-sense today.

Now, how do I see Mr. Jaswant Singh's contribution and his story. I see him as a batsman who is playing a Test Cricket Match, who has batted for long hours and he is now at 199. He then plays a lose shot and lose his wicket. No discounts whatsoever. It was a great innings, we are proud of you but you cannot be given a second chance to complete your 200. And this applies to all.

Thanks Mj. I am proud of your association with BJP, your contribution is great and we shall remember you as a great leader. India, let’s move on.
